Look, your plastic straws are only a negligible contribution to oceanic plastic pollution. Japan has backed out of all of its clean energy goals since Fukushima and is importing thousands of tons of fossil fuels to make up for it. The lithium mining processes required to make your hybrid car make its environmental benefits basically nonexistent. Food waste has much more to do with governmental regulations on spoilage and consumer demand for cosmetically perfect produce than you forgetting about the kale in your vegetable crisper.
The world is made of complex problems and the simple answer basically only exists to make you feel good about yourself
“Hella Solar” is what happens when we become the students and youth of color become our teachers.
When Hella Solar comes to town to teach the Radical Monarchs about solar power, things don’t go quite as expected. The girls quickly realize that their knowledge and experience is underestimated and decide to take over, with a broader perspective of what climate justice and renewable energy looks like in practice, and how it can be adapted in our daily lives into something useful and practical.
The real lesson comes at the end, when we realize that when we bridge our knowledge, experience, and have fun while we’re at it, we all win!
THIS. So hard.
We’re at the lowest tax rate in history for the wealthy and they just got a trillion more dollars last year in bonuses.
If you aren’t a millionaire or close to it, you should be wondering why taxes aren’t closer to 94% on that high bracket for the wealthy. You know, like it was in the golden years of the 50s all these rich white people dream of.
As someone who’s worked in several cafes, I’m mad at how accurate this is.
I will forever remember the time my friend and I were out for chinese food. we got up to pay and I (the short one with bottom energy i guess?) revealed that I would be paying for the meal, and the elderly man at the counter just flat out said “Oh, YOU’RE the boss!”
Hello! We are a team of researchers from Cleveland State University. We are interested in studying sexual health information access and accuracy for adolescents. We are looking for young adults, between the ages of 18-21, to complete a survey reflecting back on their adolescent experiences with sex education. We also want to learn how other experiences, like dating abuse or substance use, impacted this education and your experiences. The survey would take approximately 30 minutes to complete. Participants will be entered for a chance to win one of six $50 Amazon gift cards. If you have any questions please contact Kimberly Fuller, Ph.D. at k.a.fuller@csuohio.edu or 216-687-4588.
Hey guys, dunno if anyone else has encountered issues but I’m getting errors on the second or third page saying there’s no room in the data file. I’ve emailed the researchers about this as well but wanted folks to be aware the survey may not function right now.
On a hilltop about a mile from Doagh is a Bronze Age whinstone megalith known as The Holestone. Couples used to promise marriage by clasping hands through the hole in the stone, a convention that can be traced back to about 1830. It has been suggested that the stone was used in ancient times for aphrodisiac purposes. Even today, newlyweds, together with the wedding party, will visit the stone in observance of the ancient local custom.
“aphrodisiac purposes…” so they fucked it, is what i’m hearing?
went to an Exhibit today and uh, made my brother take a picture of me in my favorite installation. in return i took a picture of him in his (i.e. his face floating in a mirrored box of infinite colored lights) and that one turned out way better but whatever
